Patek Philippe 5374/400P-001 Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar 41mm Platinum Rare Handcrafts Cloisonné Enamel Watch
The Patek Philippe 5374/400P-001 is one of the most extraordinary watches Patek Philippe has ever created — a minute repeater perpetual calendar in platinum with a hand-crafted cloisonné enamel dial that represents the absolute summit of the brand’s Rare Handcrafts programme. Case Shape: Round. At $4,576,990, this is a watch for the most serious collector and the most discerning connoisseur of haute horlogerie and decorative arts combined.
Cloisonné Enamel — Centuries of Craft in a Single Dial
The cloisonné enamel dial of the 5374/400P-001 is produced by one of the world’s most elite group of craftspeople — Patek Philippe’s own enamel artists, who spend weeks creating a single dial through the ancient technique of cloisonné: fine gold wires bent into shapes that form cells, each filled with powdered glass enamel of precise colour, fired multiple times in a kiln at over 800°C, then ground and polished to a mirror surface. No two cloisonné enamel dials are ever identical. The one on the 5374/400P-001 is a unique work of art that happens to also be the face of one of watchmaking’s most complex movements.
Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar — The Double Summit
The minute repeater is the most acoustically demanding complication in watchmaking — a mechanism that chimes hours, quarter-hours, and minutes on demand via a slide on the case band. Combined with the perpetual calendar — which tracks the date, day, month, leap year cycle, and moonphase automatically until 2100 — the 5374/400P-001 houses two of the four grand complications simultaneously. The manually wound Calibre R TO 27 Q is finished to the Patek Philippe Seal standard on every visible and invisible surface. Platinum case, water resistant to 30 metres.
